The Story
"Altura" means highland in Spanish, and this designation guarantees beans grown above 1,200 meters in Mexico's Sierra Madre mountains. Our lot comes from organic-certified cooperatives in Chiapas, near the Guatemalan border, where indigenous Mayan farming communities have cultivated coffee under native forest canopy for generations. The Typica and Bourbon varieties here produce a lighter body than most Latin American coffees, with bright acidity carrying notes of cocoa powder, toasted cashew, and a warming cinnamon-like spice on the finish. A crowd-pleaser that converts tea drinkers.
