The Story
Huehuetenango is Guatemala's highest coffee-growing region, and its remoteness has been both a challenge and a blessing. Hot, dry winds from Mexico's Tehuantepec plain blow through the valley, protecting these high-altitude farms from frost and allowing cultivation up to 2,000 meters—higher than almost anywhere else in Central America. Our lot comes from the Huehue cooperative's indigenous Q'anjob'al farming communities, who grow Bourbon and Caturra under traditional milpa shade systems. Fully washed in river water and sun-dried on patios, the cup is refined and delicate: crisp Fuji apple acidity, toasted almond sweetness, and an almost crystalline clean finish. Certified organic.
